Commissionable Educational Psychology Service
Nationwide, consultation-led delivery

How the service operates

EPforSchools operates a structured, consultation-led service model designed to provide proportionate, defensible Educational Psychology advice suitable for statutory SEND and EHCP-related decision-making.

The service model

1. Commissioning & information gathering

Following organisational commissioning, relevant background documentation is requested. This typically includes school-based evidence, prior reports and contextual information required to inform formulation.

2. Structured consultation

Consultation is undertaken with school staff and, where appropriate, parents and the young person. Consultations are structured, time-bound and conducted via secure online platforms.

3. Psychological formulation

Information is integrated using an educational psychology formulation framework, identifying strengths, needs, barriers to learning and relevant contextual factors.

4. EHCP-ready written advice

A structured written report is produced using language aligned with EHCP processes. Advice is designed to be directly usable within statutory assessment, review and provision planning.

Important: This service does not include direct cognitive or attainment testing. It is intended to complement existing assessment evidence through professional consultation and formulation.
