Nationwide, consultation-led delivery

Service scope

EPforSchools provides commissionable Educational Psychology advice designed to support statutory SEND and EHCP-related decision-making. The service is consultation-led, proportionate and focused on practical usability.

Structured consultation

Consultation with school staff and, where appropriate, parents and the young person. Consultations are structured, time-bound and conducted via secure online platforms.

Psychological formulation

Integrated formulation drawing together consultation outcomes, existing evidence and contextual factors to explain need and inform provision.

EHCP-ready written advice

Written reports structured to support EHCP needs assessments, reviews and provision planning, using language aligned with statutory processes.

Proportionate input

Advice is proportionate to the referral question and complements existing assessment information rather than duplicating it.

Standard and priority routes

Standard commissioning routes are available alongside priority options where statutory timescales or urgent decisions apply.

England-wide availability

The service is delivered remotely and is available to schools, MATs and local authorities across England.

Service boundaries: This service does not include direct cognitive, attainment or diagnostic testing. It is intended to complement existing assessment evidence through professional consultation and formulation.
